DONBAR - Support Bar for Zero-Turn Lawn Mowers



The DONBAR was developed to assist in the mounting and dismounting of a zero-turn lawn mower. The DONBAR provides stability and balance for people facing physical and/or strength challenges by offering an extra point of contact when climbing on and off a mower or moving from a sitting to a standing position. The device mounts on the foot plate of the zero-turn lawn mower (often using the plate's existing holes) and is secured by lock-nuts to resist loosening caused by vibration and torque. The DONBAR is compatible with a variety of zero-turn lawn mowers, including John Deere, Toro, Exmark and most others.

DONBAR Installation Instructions ~
The DONBAR must be anchored securely to Zero-Turn mower foot plate. The DONBAR is mounted with four bolts passing through the DONBAR mounting bracket and then passing through four existing holes in the Zero-Turn mower foot plate. The DONBAR is secured with a locking nut on each of the four bolts. 

1.Each brand of Zero-Turn lawn mower has a unique style of floor board that may or may not have an array of holes existing. Check and see if any or all of these holes may match with the DONBAR mounting bracket holes. If so utilize the holes that do match and drill the remaining holes to complete the preparation for mounting the DONBAR to the floor plate.

2.Place a 5/16th flat washer on each of the four 5/16th bolts. 

3.Place the four 5/16th bolts with the flat washers through the mounting holes in the DONBAR base plate. 

4.Lower the DONBAR base plate onto the Zero-Turn foot plate with the four 5/16th bolt passing through matching holes in the foot plate.

this is a great item should have bought it a long time ago,,it really helps to get in and out of my z turn, along with the side step that i added. and yes had to drill 4 holes for it to fit but it is worth the trouble. i have a z345m john deere

The donbar support bar is very well built and of quality materials. However, they say that all you need to do is bolt it the Existing holes in the floor foot rest. Problem is that there are no holes that match the bolt holes in support bar. I would give it a five star if I wasn’t going to have to drill new holes.

I sat in the Z335E one time when purchasing the product. Mounting and dismounting was very difficult for the old bones of this 71 year old. However the excitement of owning the zero turn outweighed common sense. So I bought zero turn and loved it but suffered with the mounting/dismounting problem for three months. I was to the point that bit was so difficult to get on and off that I had to have every thing absolutely ready once IO got on because I did not want to suffer the pains of getting off. Then, I found this mounting accessory. What a differenc!! I can now mount and dismount with no problem. The only three comments I have is (1) This is a tremendously helpful product and my hat off to you John Deere for making it so sturdy! (2) Why are the holes not matching to the plate since it is made for a John Deere product - I do not buy the excuses I have read? (3) If you are not going to match the holes to the product why not have one set of vertical slots on one side of the bracket and one set of horizontal slots on the other side. Thus, you could adjust the bracket installation to the best spot on the plate.

Worth every penny!
Great product, would recommend for anyone regardless of age. I did have to drill 3 of the 4 holes for mounting

Worked as advertised. Makes it easy to get on and off for us older people. Required some holes to be drilled but that was stated in the instructions. Item is universal.

Great product and quick delivery! This is exactly what we needed for dads John Deere zero turn mower. He is getting up in age and balance not prefect and this gives him the confidence getting on and off his zero turn. I would recommend this to anyone needing assistance getting on and off a zero turn!
