John Deere 12-volt Power Port Outlet Kit - AM136716

When I decided to add a power outlet to my John Deere lawn tractor to power lights and a winch, my first thought was to head to Radio Shack and buy the parts and build one. Glad I didn't. For only $18.00 I got a factory-made power port that installed easily and flawlessly in about ten minutes. Even came with a 10 amp fuse. I do believe it would have cost more to build it myself. Good price, works great and got here on time. That's a "five" in my mind.

Instructions are poor, very poor. Was instructed to order a separate terminal and fuse, still haven't found a place where it works or why needed. Paperwork states "Plug short end of wiring harness into second block from top on back of fuse block." Well, it doesn't fit, and if it did, no secondary wire from opposite fuse side to battery. Only way to make it work is to rig my own wiring harness and put an inline fuse holder in it.

Took all of five minutes to install the power port on my X-300. Rather than running the ground to the negative side of the battery, I just ran the ground to a nearby frame bolt. Works just as well there, and there's one less wire installed on the battery.

This Power Port Outlet Kit will fit a smaller John Deere model LA135LE with a few modifications. Since there is no fuse block on the LA135 I purchased an inline fuse holder from a local source and just spliced this into the hot side of the connector. I also crimped on a ring connector similar to the connector on the ground side of the harness and connected this to the positive side of the battery. The outlet fit perfectly into the existing power port knock out hole. I use the power port outlet for my portable 12V sprayer and it works just fine.

Installs easy, works like a charm

Works well on my X380...I mostly use it to plug in my sprayers (Roundup and Insectiside)...very handy altho it did take me about 45 minutes to install (after I figured out that the diagram showed the older type fuse box and not the 2016 one that is on the X380)..great little item to have!

Part worked great but they need to add a few inches of wire as it is just barley enough to get to where you need....that would make install of 5 min instead of 20.... but I am happy with purchase

Everything about the transaction was A-1 to include the item, shipping, communications. However, the kit contained a wire connector that did not work with the newer style fuse box on the new machines. It was very difficult to find the correct type of connector that would work. Still a Five-star transaction.
