Description

John Deere 46-inch Snow Blade

The blade is constructed for good performance and long life:

  • Blade surface is curved to roll rather than push material, which requires less power and increased blade capacity.
  • Bolt-on, replaceable cutting edge takes most of the wear to greatly extend the useful life of the blade.

For operator convenience, the blade comes with standard equipment for controlling it from the tractor seat:
  • Blade can be angled left, right, or used in the straight-ahead position
Requires Rear Ballast and Tire Chains

Fits 100 series, L100 series, LA100 series and D100 series

Replaces BG20020

46" plow blade
I bought the 46" plow bade for my JD D155 I used it all last winter with great results I did use chains on the tractor. Next year I hope to add weights for the rear of the tractor it should help. I just thought my weight would be good. I do have a large driveway you just have to take smaller cuts for heavy wet snow. So far I'm very pleased

Poor Packaging, Easy to Use
The blade assembly is mounted on a D130 with rear tire chains and two 70 lb Allis Chalmers suitcase weights on the rear. The package arrived damaged, as did some of the parts in it. The blade itself was bent and required straightening to allow for cutting edge installation. The blade control lever (tube and rod) was also bent and required a lot of time straightening. There were several pieces of hardware missing from the bags. Luckily for me, and unfortunately for my wife, I insist on keeping a small hardware store worth of product on hand, so I was able to finish assembly. Had some of the components not been bent, total assembly time would have taken roughly 2-2.5 hours. The directions looked like a photocopy of a photocopy many times over, they were very grainy. The photos in the directions were next to useless as they were too grainy and dark to make out any useful detail. The blade is very easy to control right from the seat. The plow works quite well in fresh snow up to about 8 inches. With moderate snow, it does struggle with traction in the front end when the blade is angled as it just pushes the tractor to the side instead of the snow. It isn’t a fan of compacted snow or snow that has sat for a while, so stay on top of plowing and make sure to push piles back far enough to allow room for them to grow. The plow will fit with a mower deck still attached, but it is recommended to remove it to improve ground clearance as well as protect it from snow, ice, salt, etc. Overall, I am satisfied with the purchase.

Haven’t had a chance to use it yet. Seems very well constructed. Instructions are a little vague in places, but it’s all together.
