John Deere Auger Shear Bolt Kit - 19M7834KIT

It was minus sixteen here last night, and snow is piled everywhere, so it is important to keep the 44" snowblower on my JD x500 in good working order. That includes having a stock of shear bolts on hand, as they either shear off or simply fall out of the auger shafts on a fairly regular basis. I'm not sure which happens, as I've never found any of the missing shear bolt. That's my little winter tale, as I'm just starting to be able to feel my fingers and toes again. John Deere Auger Shear Bolt Kit - 19M7834KIT: I ordered two of these kits, so my ten back up shear bolts and nuts with nylon inserts arrived quickly. They seem to be the same grade of metric bolt as the OEM bolts that came with the snow blower, although the markings on the bolt heads are not completely stamped, so they probably originated from somewhere very far away. My only negative comment, and it comes from something that should be quite easy being way too difficult, was trying to find these bolts in the black hole of the JD online parts catalog. After more than an hour of fruitless searching for a consumable item whose absence would render my entire machine quite useless, I finally found a post in an independent tractor forum which stated that JD had decided to give the same shear bolt different part numbers on the 44" and 48" versions of the same JD snow blower, and a clue as to the right base part number to use in my search. So bottom line, good bolts ... online catalog, not so much.

Bought my unit used, and when the sheer bolts broke I was left with 18 inches of snow is sub freezing North Minnesota snow. Fortunately I found you guys on a tractor forum, sent an email and got a response the same day. They asked a few questions, and since I didn't know what I was looking at, I sent a lot of pictures. They found the part, and here I am with 10 sheer bolts. My used LS120 retrofitted with a 25hp Briggs, is an amazing machine and it handles the snow with ease. A great big THANK YOU!!! Now to figure out how to do things like change the oil and other essential maintenance .,

These bolts are a necessity if you live in an area that gets a lot of wet heavy snow. I keep a few of these bolts right on the tractor for easy access when the need arises.

I was down to one shear pin. Fortunately, the predicted storm did not happen so I have not had to use the new pins. Glad to have them on hand and happy with the timely delivery.

The bolts arrived as ordered, but I seem to go through alot of these and wonder whether they are the right ones?

These are exactly the same shear bolts that came with my JD 44" snowblower for my x370. Haven't had to use them yet, but I never want to be in a situation where I don't have plenty of spares.

Well, although I never know when the JD snow blower sheers a pin, hubby does, and it happens more than you think. I bought 3 packs so that he could have extra on hand. I bought packs about 2 years ago and it is easy to get then here, and they came quickly.
