John Deere Drain Valve - M154828

This drain plug is an exact replacement for the one on the X720 series tractor. You will probably need a replacement if you are draining the radiator for the first time. The plug is in a tight space with a wiring harness and frame rail right along side of it. The factory really screws them in tight and you have to fight to get them out without a special tool that is slotted to fit over the tabs or a large socket to grasp the two tabs on the end. If you have to do it the hard way with vise grip pliers, you will chew up the tabs a little. It is easy to slot an 11/16" deep socket about 3/4" to pass over the tabs and use a ratchet to get it off. Steve from the Green Parts Store was a great help with the replacement drain plug. Order two replacement O-Rings too.
