Works as a cap for some models
The universal gauge is a couple inches shorter than the gauge that was original to my JD210. It measures when full but is inaccurate after that because it doesn't come near the bottom of the tank. It's OK for a cap but you can't use the gauge because it doesn't reflect remaining fuel level.

Great Fuel Tank Guage
I bought this item as a replacement cap for my commercial line - Sabre Intek - by John Deere. Great fit and it is nice to see how much fuel I actually have in the tank now. Now I have now excuse to run out of gas and have walk back to the garage and get a refill. Great service as always - very helpful and friendly.
