John Deere MCS Boot 54-inch Mower - LP23081

I needed a deck boot for my JD X500 54X deck and a new DR 321 Pro vac. I didn't want to chop away at the generic DR boot and thankfully discovered the less expensive JD 8" deck boot p/n LP23081. This kit includes a heavy steel bracket specifically for the 54x deck (several deck specific brackets are available) and requires no deck drilling or boot modifications like the one reviewer said they did. ONLY THE TOP EDGE OF THE STEEL BRACKET MOUNTS INSIDE THE PLASTIC BOOT! The bracket should not and will not completly fit inside of the boot. Unfortunately, the instructions do not include this information. The steel bracket was designed to lock down and press very securely into the bottom outside edge of the boot when the the top bolts are tightened. This also leaves the plastic boot at a roughly 30 degree angle off the grass. It's a very nice product and I'm only leaving off a star due to the poor and incomplete instructions included in the box.

No complaints about the part. Please updated the description to include that the outlet is 8". I need to procure or fabricate an adapter to attach a 6" hose.
