Customer Reviews

Mr.
Wonderful little gadget that keeps pressure on the deck height lever so it doesn't pop out, BUT if you break it you may wonder how the heck a new one goes on. Look at the lever itself, where it goes thru the square tubing, held on by a thin retainer. Get a flat screw-drive and work it off, pressure on one side and then another, if you are careful you can reuse it.The end of it should face out. Take the screwdriver and push the other end of the spring inward to snap it around the lever itself. You have to put some pressure on it but it will work. I only wish they would include a pic with the spring so it makes sense. If all else fails, take a look at another John Deere lawn tractor similar to yours as quite a few use the same Torsion spring and once you see it, you will go "oohhh, I see now". This gets a **** because of no pic. It really isn't all that hard to do....

Does what it's supposed to do
The original spring on my JD had broken, allowing the cutting height lever to jump out of the slot. This spring has a lot of tension and took a little effort to install but works perfectly. Now the cutting height adjustment stays put. At $5 and change, it's much better than a Bungie cord or piece of rope.

Lost the last one when pin came off! Very happy you had it. Didn't know it was even needed until I looked up the entire assembly on your Web Site! Thanks...
