John Deere Mulch Control Kit 


The MulchControl attachment for the 42A Mower Deck makes mulching more practical for many mowing situations because it not only does an excellent job of mulching but it also allows the mower to be easily converted for times when it is more desirable to side discharge or collect the lawn material. Advantages of mulching grass clippings include:
  • A beautiful looking lawn
  • Grass clippings not blown onto the operator, driveways, or flower beds
  • Less fertilizer use
  • Elimination of the effort needed to dispose of clippings

Great upgrade to my mower
This mulching kit is a great upgrade to my Z335. I really didnt like all the grass shooting out the side. It was a pain to always plan to aim the shoot away from my mulch beds. The stock blades cut nice, but I dont think as nice as this. The grass is cut up in smaller pieces and there are no clumps of cut grass in my yard or mulch beds. I think this is a great upgrade and it was no trouble at all to put on.

The mulch kit shipped fast and was easy to install,the quality is John Deere all the way.If you are a home owner that takes pride in their grass this mulch kit is a must have.

Overall works well. Just installed it and did one mow so can't comment on longer term impact on the grass. Installation was pretty straight forward. Diagrams were a bit challenging to determine which piece they were pointing to but were able to augment with youtube and online resources. Ended up with two extra bolts. Reread the instructions multiple times and still don't see where they are used. On our X350 the bolts holding the deflector shield to the deck were installed in a direction that prevented the mulch deflector arm from being able to swing open for side discharge. Had to remove the bolts and flip the direction and then it worked fine.

Easy installation, fits like a glove, well made and a good value, works like a charm and I like the cut better than the original which I had no problem with except keeping clippings off the drive and out of the flower beds and out of my ride along beverage. You won't be sorry adding this kit to your deck.

Perfect Fit...No Instructions
This kit is perfect. Installed it on my X330. It came with no instructions, so the installation took a little longer. Other than that is works perfect.
