John Deere Steering Shaft Bearing Kit - AM107081

You may be wondering why there are 3 bushings in this kit when your steering column only requires 1. The kit fits multiple applications (per the instructions). Although the bushing is correct for eradicating a " Rattling " steering wheel , the " Slop " may be in your steering shaft itself by a few thousandths. If so , simply install a rubber washer between shaft and tube to ease the nagging rattle. Then peen the top of the tube to retain the washer. The top of the tube is peened anyway to retain the bushing . You must " Unpeen " and " Repeen " the top of the tube to install the bushing , so why not add a rubber washer if rattling is what sent you searching for this part. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because it's a bit pricey for 1 plastic bushing.. Although it's understandable that JD may want to condense merchandising , cataloging , and warehousing by combining all 3 bushings under the same part number. It also may be impossible to identify what steering tube you have by serial number.
