John Deere Tow-Behind Thatcherator - LPTA40JD

Excellent quality of parts. Solid heavy duty like you'd expect from John Deere. I did some have fit issues with the raise lower handle and ended up doing away with the spring action and just bolted the handle solid and am using a removable pin to lock in the the adjustment heights. Otherwise a great addition to my yard equipment.

I've used my new Thatcherator for only a few hours and I'm very happy with it. Thick gauge steel and nicely powercoated. Thanks Brinly-Hardy! Only complaint is the instruction manual I received with the rake in the John Deere box. Very basic and not user friendly at all! What saved me from insanity was finding an excellent assembly video online. Owners manual should mention this. Cheers!

Works great

Easy assembly. Purchased the extensions as well for a little more width. This unit is a bit more robust compared to others. If pulling behind a tractor with a three point and iMatch system, I built a special hitch. The tongue was not long enough make it work properly due to the height adjustment lever. Once adjusted properly, it works very well.

Almost bought a cheaper Dethatcher/rake from a Home Center. Decided to buy the JD brand after buying a new JD mower this season. Because of course I had to have that matching green paint (the green disease is real). Man I’m so glad I did! This rake is very heavy duty…thicker steel, heavier duty bolts/hardware, and more solid than I would’ve ever expected after dealing with the other brands. And if you buy it through these guys it’s only about $100 more than a store brand. Fast shipping, GREAT customer service. Couldn’t be happier

The John Deere Dethatcher I purchased is an awesome and well built tool. Very simple to assemble and easy to use. It does an outstanding standing job and after doing some research the extension plates sold for the front mounting zero turn JD dethatcher will actually install on the tow behind so so can extend this 40” to a 56” if you so desire. John Deere is very innovative with their equipment and that’s why I invest in them. The customer service at Green parts store is 2nd to none. I highly recommend this piece of equipment and the green parts store for all your JD needs.
