The final step in the process is the patented and independently tested Marbain® heat-treating process. This process makes Predator2 blades approximately 25% - 40% harder than standard lawnmower blades, making them the longest-lasting, safest and most impact resistant lawnmower blades on the market.

Grass Cutter
I figured since my blades haven't been replaced or sharpened in a while, that it was time to buy new ones. I have a L100 with a 42" deck with the mulch cover over the grass exhaust shoot. Since my old blades were not mulching blades, I decided to buy blades that mulch, and glad I did. I began by trying to remove the bolts while the deck was installed on the tractor, I got one bolt off and had much difficulty with the others, so it was time to remove the deck. Never done that before, but it was easy by using JD's online info. as I had my laptop in my shop with me. Got the deck off and flipped it over on the ground, but still the bolts were way to tight for a socket wrench and a long breaker bar. I stood the deck up against a wall to help with bolt removal and finally got the other bolt off of the same blade. So I've got one blade off and I can't seem to remove the other two bolts for the other blade. I ended up taking it to my local hardware store where they have a service dept. that used an impact socket to remove the two other bolts. I was thinking of getting new bolts but was told to get the hardened steel bolts from my local JD dealership, well I needed to get the new blades back on that day to mow, so I decided to re-use the old ones. It all went together rather easily with a little WD-40, and it was nice to scrape off all the stuck on grass and "things" wrapped around the blade shafts. Hooked the deck back on, and off I went to try the new blades out. They cut very well and make the cut grass blades fairly small so that they can fall back into the lawn. My old non-mulching blades wouldn't cut the blades very small even with the mulching cover. Great blades and look forward to using these on the leaves this Fall.

Great Blades!
I've always used the John Deere hi lift blades and frequently had issues with them not "lifting" enough. If my grass was at all damp it barely seemed to make it to the chute. I tried these as they were less expensive and because of the extended cutting length mentioned in the description. I was a bit unsure of the wings, in spite of the description that it improved the air flow. Well, it certainly did and improved the pickup of my clippings. I've used these for a couple of months now, and even with damp grass I almost never run into any clogging issues. Certainly a major improvement from the prior blades. They cut cleanly, and seem to chop up my clippings better than prior blades I've used as well. Overall, an excellent blade at a very fair price!

Mulch improvement
I had new regular blades but I kept chasing grass around the yard until I talked to my next door neighbor who I watched for a year whos mower was cutting perfect. I finally asked him why. He showed me all the goodies on his J.D. These blades, blowout baffle (most important) and mulch cover. Headache gone. I can't wait for Fall to see how everything works.

Deere Rider
I replaced my standard L111 42" deck blades with a set of these. They cut thick lawns much better than the stock blades and mulch the clippings finer with the mulch cover on or off. These make cutting even well over grown lawns a breeze. The standard blades would leave large clumps of clippings and not mulch very fine even with the cover. A very nice improvement over the stock blades.
