John Deere 100 Series / S240 Weather Enclosure - LP74604

Just received this today. I promptly went out to the garage to install this since we were having a nice break in the weather and it made it up to 60 today. The parts were packed extremely well and it took a bit of time to unpack and cut all the zip ties holding the frame members to the heavy piece of cardboard they were mounted to. All parts were also carefully wrapped in bubble wrap. The canvas top was packed separately, with the windows being protected by additional soft material. The directions are "ok" and IMO, may give someone that isn't mechanically inclined a bit of trouble. The frame members are all tagged and the letters coincide with the directions. Having a few of the parts miss-marked didn't help matters but I was able to make sense of it and swap them to the proper spot. The rear bracket that mounts on the back of the tractor and holds the rear most part of the frame was also incorrectly marked in that the warning stickers were on upside down, which caused me to mount the rear bracket upside down. I quickly found out that the uprights will not click into place due to this. It would have helped if the directions had stated to pay close attention to the orientation of the bracket (or marked "this side up") I was able to get everything together in a little over an hour .Getting the canvas top on would definitely be easier with the help of another person, but it's not impossible to do alone as I did. Everything fit pretty tight and lined up fairly well for the most part. As expected, the clear window material is not 100% perfect, being a bit wavy, but I'll hit it with a heat gun and see if it makes a difference. The cab seals fairly well to my 100 series tractor and I feel it should keep out most of the snow dust and wind. I say "most" because there are large areas of the cab that have mesh sewn into it with no way of sealing them off. They are located on each front corner where the dust will most likely blow in, but we will see in due time, but I'm also sure it will be much better than being exposed to the elements. I think this product is a bit over-priced for what it is, and for that price, could stand to have a little tighter quality control. For these reasons, I only give it 4 stars.

Purchased this enclosure and installed it on my JD 170 tractor. The instructions and the fit are great. In my case the cab is too tall for my storage shed so I had to return it but it was well built and as described.
