John Deere Mulch Control Kit 


The MulchControl attachment for the 42A Mower Deck makes mulching more practical for many mowing situations because it not only does an excellent job of mulching but it also allows the mower to be easily converted for times when it is more desirable to side discharge or collect the lawn material. Advantages of mulching grass clippings include:
  • A beautiful looking lawn
  • Grass clippings not blown onto the operator, driveways, or flower beds
  • Less fertilizer use
  • Elimination of the effort needed to dispose of clippings

just a guy
Worked well, then I ran over a rock or something that was big enough to bust off a piece of the flap that closes to mulch, so I need to replace it, otherwise grass blows out. Hopefully I can just buy that part and not kit.

Great add on to my Ztrak 345M mower! Installation was easy (20 minutes or so) and I no longer have to fear throwing a rock through a window.

Plastic not metal parts
We ordered this kit to replace some metal parts of our mulching kit. When the kit arrived, it was plastic parts instead of metal. That would have been nice to know before we ordered it.

Great Add On
Bought an x350 and after one mow I knew I wanted a mulching kit. Installation was pretty easy. Took me about an hour start to finish. I have tall turf fescue and mow high. First mow with the new kit installed was great. I still had some clippings to clean up afterwards but it was nice not having to worry about the side discharge blowing grass into all my flower beds. Overall, very pleased with this kit. Ordering and delivery was pretty easy and fast.
